  PLOWED FIELD  

FIELD STONE. My hard core field of dreams! Stones as far as the eye can see... and beyond. The area whereI live in New York State is notorious for its stone laden soil. It is common knowledge that when you plow a field you will never stop turning up stone.The best you can do is to remove as many of the larger ones as possible to prevent equipment damage. In days gone by farmers used these nuisance stones to build stone walls. The stone walls became major landmark indicators of property lines and interior divisions within a property. But sadly, like barns, stone walls have suffered from the slow demise of family farms.
